IASIA/IIAS Welcomes New Members to Its Network

The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), an entity of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), is delighted to announce the addition of two new institutional members: the Escuela de Capacitación - Tesorería General de la República do Chile and L'École de Préparation aux Carrières Administratives (EPCA) from Gabon.

The inclusion of the Escuela de Capacitación de la Tesorería General de la República and  EPCA in our network reinforces our shared commitment to advancing the standards of public governance worldwide. Their membership reflects a shared desire to foster collaboration with international stakeholders in tackling multifaceted issues on a global scale.

Escuela de Capacitación de la Tesorería General de la República (Chile):

Originally established in the early 1980s, the Escuela de Capacitación de la Tesorería General de la República, was created to train Treasury agents in fields like Accounting and Public Administration. Over time, the school evolved to offer courses as needed, ensuring ongoing education for Treasury personnel.

In 2015, the school underwent a revival, ushering in a new era of excellence. Certified instructors were carefully selected and entrusted with the noble task of imparting specialized training in technical subjects. These courses not only enhance expertise but also play a pivotal role in fostering internal knowledge management.

 L'École de Préparation aux Carrières Administratives (EPCA) (Gabon):

L'École de Préparation aux Carrières Administratives (EPCA) is an institution situated in Gabon, dedicated to the training and preparation of individuals for administrative careers. 

The school offers a diverse range of programs and courses meticulously designed to equip students with the requisite skills and knowledge to excel in the realm of public administration. 

EPCA serves as a beacon of hope, shaping the future leaders of Gabon, whose collaborative efforts will undoubtedly drive the nation towards unprecedented levels of progress and prosperity.

We also would like to highlight the addition of two distinguished professionals as individual members. 

Dr. Nelson Cardozo (Argentina) has extensive experience and dedication to the field of public administration, as evidenced by your role as Associate Professor at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa and his significant contributions to research and education. Dr. Cardozo focus on the teaching of public administration and your active involvement in programs and initiatives within our region align perfectly with the values and goals of IASIA. 

Dr. Younes Abouyoub, as the Chief of Governance and State-Building Section at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), has wealth of experience and leadership in fostering accountable, responsive, and inclusive governance institutions is truly commendable. His diverse background spanning from political reform and crisis management to consensus-building and national dialogue efforts, underscores his unwavering commitment to promoting sustainable development and conflict prevention. 

We are thrilled to have these new members in our network, and we look forward to collaborating to improve public governance research, education, and practice together. Their unique perspectives and wealth of experiences promise to invigorate the ongoing discourse among global public governance scholars and practitioners. 

Moreover, the addition of these esteemed members marks IASIA’s ongoing expansion and steadfast dedication to global excellence in public administration. We look forward to cultivating collaborative alliances as we navigate the complex landscape of PA. Together, we are poised to propel progress and innovation in the field to new heights.


The International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training Programs (ICAPA) is pleased to announce the recent reaccreditation and accreditation of several prominent institutions. The American University in Cairo, the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas at the University of Lisbon (ULisboa ISCSP), and Fairleigh Dickinson University have all been tentatively approved for accreditation through an Action by Written Consent by the ICAPA Accreditation Committee (AC). Final endorsement of these accreditations will proceed through the Steering Committee as outlined by Regulation 8 in the coming days.

The International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), the specialized entity of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), is pleased to officially welcome Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (UAE) in Morocco as a new Corporate Member. UAE’s membership strengthens IASIA’s commitment to advancing public administration education and research, further enhancing our mission to foster global standards of excellence in the field.

The 2024 AAPA-EROPA-AGPA-IAPA Joint Conference, an unprecedented gathering of Asia’s major public administration organizations—the Asian Association for Public Administration (AAPA), the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA), the Asian Group for Public Administration (AGPA), and the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA)—successfully concluded at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Themed “Towards World Class Bureaucracy,” the event marked a milestone in public administration, drawing over 600 participants, including a substantial international delegation.
